Menswear
Menswear fashion has changed quite a bit over the past
couple of centuries. For instance, in the early 1900s to
the 1920s dress was often more formal, except for maybe
around the home.
Then, there were times, such as during the World Wars,
where dress became more practical. Men for instance
primarily dressed in their war work uniforms.
Changes In Men’s Swimwear Fashions
In earlier times, men wore tank suits with underwear,
and these were typically made out of fabrics such as
wool.
Later on, swimming trunks made for men were created out
of lighter materials such as nylon, polyester, and
stretchy fabrics. For instance, many men now would wear
Speedo clothing, and they were seen more often at the
beach with no shirt on.
These swimming shorts are some of the lighting
watersport wear on the market, and they were created to
help the man move more easily while enjoying the
outdoors. These shorts are thought of as “sexier” by
most people’s standards as well-and some are so “brief”
that people may think of them as no more different than
underwear.
Changes in Men’s Casual Clothing Fashions
There was a time when conservatism was valued in dress.
However, it became more and more common for men and boys
both to wear jeans and T-shirts-even to places such as
work or school (depending upon the standards of an
institution or business). Clothing for both men and
women in recent years is also known to be produced in
brighter colors at times as well, especially for summer
clothing.
Developments Of Men’s Formal Fashions
Generally speaking, suits in times past were made with
more fabric, and usually those fabrics were heavier.
Additionally, men were more often likely to wear
accessories such as a pocket watch that has a chain on
it-which some men wear today but not as many.
In the present day, suits are not made with as much
fabric and they are also designed in a more streamlined
shape. The suits of today are more likely to be of
smaller sizes than in times past.
Big And Tall Fashions
Quite a few clothing labels such as Burberry, Polo Ralph
Lauren, Ermenegildo Zegna, Gitman Bros., Jockey, Lee, or
Wrangler carry big and tall men’s fashions. Nearly every
kind of clothing from suits to casual pants, to
swimwear, to shoes all come in extra large men’s sizes.
Two of the stores that offer these larger fashions for
men include Big and Tall Rochester’s and Casual Male XL.
Both of these companies have an online presence, as well
as stores in locations such as the U.S. and the U.K.
